Welcome!

cabin in the fall Recently opened in summer 2005, this newly constructed log vacation home is situated on picturesque Dog Lake (Stirrett Bay) in Northwestern Ontario. This family project, handcrafted by the owner and a local artisan, is built from handpeeled local Jack Pine logs.

Relax on this semi-secluded, scenic, year-round rental property. This is where you can get away from it all and enjoy all of nature's seasons. The activities are many; hiking, mountain biking on miles of existing logging roads, canoeing, fishing (walleye, bass and northern pike), kayaking, snowmobiling and crosscountry skiing. Explore Dog Lake's secluded sand beaches and discover buried Native artifacts, or explore islands with 300 year old White Pine. Nearby the Kaministiquia River offers rapids for kayak enthusiasts and nature lovers can view wildlife in many quiet, sheltered bays of the lake. Or you can just kick back and relax on our large sand beach, enjoy swimming in clear water and view beautiful sunsets.

dock in front of cabin This log home is comfortably decorated and includes 3 bedrooms (2 queen and twins). Each room has its own view. The pine/log cathedral ceiling accomodates the upstairs balcony/sitting area, which provides a spectacular view of the lake and sunsets. The master bedroom and a 3-piece bathroom are located on the main floor. Enjoy cooking from the open concept kitchen with sitdown counter that opens to a large screened-in porch facing the lake. Decks accommodate the rear and front of the home. An authentic log sauna is located on a large, sandy beach with great swimming.
